Those of you who think that Estepona is just a ‘laid back’ Spanish beach town with some shops, restaurants and a few beach clubs should think again. Estepona has so much to offer and much of it can rival the prestigious neighbouring resorts of Marbella and Sotogrande.
In particular Estepona Port is almost a well kept secret. It stands out from other ports due to its unique architecture and bright blue paintwork which is tasteful and endearing.
There are a variety of boats moored at the port due to its reasonable rates when compared to Marbella, Puerto Banus and Sotogrande. It is one of the areas main ‘working’ ports, with fisherman going in and out daily with their days catch to provide the local restaurants and supermarkets with their fresh fish.
The port of Estepona also boasts many fabulous restaurants and shops and it is always a hive of activity, especially at the weekends. It hosts the Estepona market on a Sunday and that alone brings in people from all over the coast.
The port of Estepona has a real cosmopolitan feel to it and the different types of cuisine available from the local restaurants confirm this feeling. From traditional Spanish and tapas through to Chinese and Indian.
The port is easily accessible via the coast road that runs adjacent to the beachfront in Estepona as it is at the end of the main promenade. Local to the area are also many fabulous new developments in Estepona, some of which are considered the most luxurious on the coast.
The Edge and The Island stand out as two of the closest to the port that provide luxury front-line beach homes for sale.
With so many things to do and activities available within the port of Estepona, it is no wonder that it attracts so many visitors.
